Should I change my cat food – Wellness or stick it out?

I have always fed my cats good food – Wellness – he had to have dental surgery two weeks ago and had to have three teeth removed. Of course they put him on the Hills t/d food. He had bad diarrhea from that so I put him back on the Wellness-Three weeks later his stool is still very soft. He is a long haired cat and I have to clean up his rear end every time he goes. Should I continue with the Wellness and hope it clears up or does anyone recommend another good quality food I can try.
I do a mixture of wet and dry. I feed them dry in the morning and wet food at night.

Try some Benebac from the pet store – it’s all the “good” bacteria that cats need in their systems. It comes in a small tube, and it’s used for three days. Helps very much with loose stool! Just be sure to check the expiration date on the tubes.

The Wellness is a good food, and once you get him back to “regular” it shouldn’t be a problem. Dry foods aren’t the best thing to be feeding cats, even Wellness, as dry has now been linked to so many feline disorders including diabetes, obesity, constipation, urinary tract disorders and kidney disease. And dry does not clean the teeth – look at a cat’s teeth, they were designed for ripping meat and not for chewing. Canned does not stick to the teeth like dry does, and contributes far less to dental disease and plaque and tartar build up. Add some Wellness canned to his diet – better for his teeth and overall health.
